Refund Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Artful Words. Please review our refund policy below.

Important: Due to the handmade nature of our products, we have a 7-day return policy from the date of delivery. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as you received it.

1. Returns

Eligibility for Returns

You may return an item for a refund or exchange if:

  • The item is defective or damaged upon arrival
  • The item received is not as described on our website
  • You received the wrong item

Non-Returnable Items

Certain types of items cannot be returned:

  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Items marked as "Final Sale"

2. Refunds

Processing Time

Once your return is received and inspected (usually within 3-5 business days), we will send you an email to notify you that we've received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Refund Method

If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 10 business days.

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be granted in the following cases:

  • Items returned with signs of use or damage
  • Any item not in its original condition
  • Missing parts or pieces not due to our error

3. Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange an item for the same product, please contact us at returns@artfulwords.com with your order number and details about the product you would like to exchange.

Timeframe for Exchanges

Exchanges must be requested within 7 days of receiving your order. The replacement item will be shipped once we receive and inspect the returned item.

4. Return Shipping

Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, defective item, etc.). Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Recommended Shipping Method

We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for returns. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

5. Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately at help.artfulwords@gmail.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging. We will arrange for a replacement or refund.

Timeframe for Reporting Damage

Damage claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. Please save all packaging materials for inspection.

6. Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven't received a refund within 10 business days after we've approved your return:

  • Check your bank account again
  • Contact your credit card company (it may take some time to process)
  • Contact your bank (processing times vary)
  • If you've done all of this and still haven't received your refund, please contact us at help.artfulwords@gmail.com

7. Sale Items

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded unless they are defective.

8. Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you'll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you.

If the item wasn't marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver.
